Stand Alone Washing Service, For those who want to spin their own yarn or use the fur as stuffing • Fur Only (if your pet has hair, please inquire for a custom quote)
If you want to spin your own yarn but want to bypass the dirty stages of processing raw fiber, this is a great option.
When correctly washed, canine spinning fiber creates a yarn that does not smell like wet dog. That’s because the smell isn’t caused by the fur itself, but the dander, skin oils, and bacteria on dogs’ skin. Once the fur is shed, it can be cleaned.
If you want to ensure that there’s no wet dog smell in your yarn, then a proper wash of the raw fur before spinning is vital. If you try to save this step until after spinning, a lot of odor-causing matter gets trapped in the twist of the yarn, which in turn keeps the odor around and unable to be washed away.
Utilize my expertise at washing dog fur to perfection!
Dog fur will be shipped back to you as rough batts, or clouds if the staple is short enough that a batt wouldn’t hold together. Cat fur will arrive as clouds.

(The stand-alone washing service is more expensive than my washing fee for for custom yarn orders since the cleaning process is very labor intensive and I’m not making the profits from the spinning of the yarn itself from just washing the fur, so the cost reflects that.)
